You can protect your contents as well. If you are in a higher-risk area and get a flood insurance quote make sure that you have personal property coverage included. The NFIP will include up to $100,000, but it has to be added on unless it is a preferred risk policy. Make sure you cover everything possible.

Just because it’s not a home doesn’t mean that it can’t be covered.Non-residential buildings can get flood insurance as well. The limits for these buildings can go up to $500,000 for the unit itself. Contents can also be covered for $500,000 allowing for up to $1 million in total coverage.
